Jason is Founder and CEO of Merritt Point Wealth Advisors. He is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and a Senior Fundamental Choice Portfolio Manager.
Jason works with C-suite and senior executives of Fortune 500 companies as well as high net worth families to help them achieve their long term financial and retirement goals. Jason focuses on asset consolidation, capital preservation, and income maximization. He also works with clients on their deferred compensation, defined benefit plans, and employee stock options and works with their accountants and CPAs to develop tax and estate planning strategies.
As a Fundamental Choice Portfolio Manager and Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM, Jason offers clients a professional approach to investment management. He oversees a team with a disciplined process for building portfolios and measuring risk utilizing a wide array of investment strategies, including traditional and alternative investments. He has been a guest lecturer at NYU Stern School of Business, where he educated MBA students on investment strategies and risk management.
Today, Jason also focuses on empowering other advisors to help them build, grow, and own their own practices by achieving independence through Merritt Point Wealth Advisors.
Prior to founding Merritt Point Wealth Advisors, Jason co-founded Cutler and Andrews Financial Group, which began at UBS in 2003 and moved to Wells Fargo Advisors in 2008. Jason was Senior Vice President - Investments at Wells Fargo Advisors, where he spent ten years and Vice President - Investment at UBS Financial Services, where he developed a proprietary Self-employed 401(k) platform to service Local Real Estate firms.
Jason is very active in community affairs. He has volunteered his time by providing educational lectures about finance and investing at many local YWCAs and YMCAs, in addition to the Young Women’s League of New Canaan, the Greenwich Young Professional’s Group (YPG), the Fairfield County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Group, Greenwich High School Continuing Ed, and numerous real estate forums. Jason served on the board of trustees for The Long Ridge School in North Stamford CT and is involved with numerous youth programs, including lacrosse and flag football leagues in addition to the CT Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County where he and his family increase their donations and time during the Holiday Season.
Jason is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a B.S. in Finance. He resides in North Stamford with his wife Melissa, two children, and their golden retriever.
